One of the great things about Bondi is how eclectic it is. It is represented by so many different nationalities and people of varying life beliefs, cultures and ideals. For as welcomed and fantastic as this is, some times, it’s bit of a drag. Bondi surf can be a cold soup of mixed ability and understanding of the way of the wave.
When your friends said “drop in”, they meant “swing past sometime”, not ignore the rules of the line up and try to get on every wave you can and pretend you’re the only one out there. Fortunately though, when the surf picks up and the pool of people filters out you get a little reminder as to why you love Bondi so much. Fun times close to home and so much more. Bondi at dusk,. Sitting out the back and looking at the buildings of Campbell parade as it starts to get dark and the world slows down is beautiful.
